April, 17th 2006 – Ultratumba Productions proudly announces the release of the resin model kit Angry Red Spider. The Angry Red Spider has 15 solid pink (Sid Pink?!) resin pieces including the base. The creature stands 9 inches high and 19 ½ inches wide, so this is no itsy bitsy spider, this is one BIG BatRatSpider!
The Angry Red Spider is limited to 150 kits. Each kit’s printed box is signed and numbered by the artist and a certificate of authenticity is also included.
This kit was inspired by the wonderful Cold War American science fiction film “Angry Red Planet," produced by Sidney Pink (who co-wrote the story with director Ib Melchior) in 1960 and starring Gerald Mohr and Nora Hayden. (Incidentally, head Stooge Moe Howard's son-in-law Norman Maurer co-produced the film and created the "Cinemagic" process, basically a frame-tinting technique similar to a "solarization" effect.)
